The conversation about Human Health should start with defining what Health really is. Is it a absence of symptoms of disease? What if science hasn’t discovered a particular illness?
Perhaps a more unifying way to look at it is “what does health look like?” Does it look like “absence of symptoms” or does it look like one is firing on all cylinders? Maybe a good way to put it is that “health is when one operates well on every level: physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and sexual”.
And we should think of every one of these 5 levels. After all, all humans, across races and cultures and across time, operate on these 5 levels. So we should also work to heal patients on every one of them.
